“The garden suggests there might be a place where we can meet nature halfway.” – Michael Pollan
After a long pepping summer vacation, the children are all geared up for the learning experience with all heart and mind. Each day, they love to indulge in some or other activity with a cheerful disposition.
When the topic of their activity, ‘What do we see in the garden? ‘Was proposed to the students of KG-II, immediately after a tour of their School garden, the eyes of each one of the gleamed with joy, each wanting to share their tale.
Some spoke about the beautiful flowers, some about the colourful butterflies and some about the trees, plants, pots, tools etc. This marked their observation and imagination skills and also their love for nature.
To add on to their interest the lesson was followed by an activity of ‘leaf painting’. The children were guided by the teacher to colour the leaf and paste it on the piece of paper given to them. This activity enhanced their fine motor, kinesthetic, naturalistic and visual skills.
