“Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world.” – Louis Pasteur
Experiments make learning interesting. Students of Class II learnt about ‘Solubility’ during their online Environmental Science Class on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Solubility is the ability of a substance to mix into a liquid.
Students witnessed how water has the property of dissolving some substances in it. This was done by making lemonade. They also saw some substances after being mixed for a few minutes were not getting dissolved, for example, oil and sand.
The children learnt as well as enjoyed doing the experiment in the class by mixing two different substances in two different glasses under proper guidance from the teachers. They not only did the experiment but also shared their observation with the teachers.
Children learn best through direct experiments. It also helps in easier understanding of concepts and longer memory retention. Learning by doing enables children to reflect on what they do and apply the concept in several other things in real life situations.
