Singular and Plural Nouns

Singular and Plural Nouns

Among the various classroom activities that are being conducted for the students, to ensure that the children get a better understanding of English grammar one such activity was about Nouns. Students started by learning the difference between singular and plural nouns, followed by practicing sorting examples. They were then given flash cards and in an interesting way asked to sort them into two different groups. The young ones loved getting up and moving around to sort the words. After that, the students were taught how to sort words with specific suffixes. They had to determine if a particular word would need an -s, -es, or -ies to be made plural.  This made the students not only learn the difference between singular and plural nouns, but also helped them give their own examples of a singular noun made plural. Focus was given to ensure that the kids recognize singular and plural nouns both visually and audibly.
