Food is one of the basic necessities of life. It gives us energy to work and play as well as makes us strong and healthy. We eat different types of food to maintain our health and prevent ourselves from diseases. An activity was conducted for students of Class I to instil in them the importance of each food group like Energy giving, Body building and Protective food. They were given picture cut outs of different food items and asked to name the food item and accordingly paste it under different food groups. This activity helped students to understand that each food item is grouped under three categories and in order to have a healthy or a balanced diet, we need to choose food from all three groups. The activity also helped the students in enhancing their naturalistic, interpersonal and linguistic skills.
